A Traditional Garage Replacement with Lasting Character

The Netherton Outbuilding project involved the replacement of an outdated rear garage with a traditionally designed single-storey outbuilding positioned at the end of the garden.

Designed to span from one boundary to the other, the proposal creates a clear distinction between the private garden and rear access driveway while remaining sympathetic to the character and appearance of the existing home.

The outbuilding accommodates a dedicated home gym alongside practical tool storage, providing functional ancillary space tailored to modern day living. Traditional proportions, matching materials, and restrained detailing were carefully considered throughout the design process to ensure the building remained subservient to the main dwelling.

By reflecting the architectural language of the existing property, the proposal delivers a timeless addition that integrates naturally within its residential setting while enhancing the overall usability of the site.
