Benjamin R Kirby RIBA ARB is the founder of Rosenkelly Architectural Design, a RIBA Chartered Practice. He is a  fully qualified Architect based in Dorset, specialising in residential projects. The practice focuses on a traditional and context-led approach, with work ranging from one-off houses and period properties to considered residential development.

Professional Experience
Before establishing Rosenkelly, Ben contributed to large-scale developments across the South West of England with Thrive Architects Ltd, worked on mixed-use projects at Origin 3 Studios in Bristol, and was involved in high-end residential design at Richmond Bell Architects Ltd, with projects in Wiltshire, London, and beyond.

Education & Qualifications
His background combines architectural training with practical construction knowledge. Ben holds a Master’s degree and Postgraduate Certificate in Architecture, together with a First-Class Honours degree from the University of the West of England. Prior to this, he studied locally at Weymouth College, where he completed an Extended Diploma in Architecture, surveying and civil engineering, achieving Dual Distinction*.

Construction Experience
Ben's technical grounding is reinforced by early hands-on experience on site. Having worked as a builder’s labourer on listed buildings and bespoke projects in Dorset, including with family-run firms such as Building Service Solutions and Phoenix Property Maintenance Ltd, Ben brings a practical understanding of how projects are put together as well as how they are designed.
 

Local Involvement

Alongside his architectural practice, Ben is actively involved in the local community through the Weymouth & Portland Chamber of Commerce, serving on its Executive Committee since January 2025. He supports initiatives and events connected to business, placemaking and the built environment, reflecting his wider commitment to contributing positively to the future of Dorset.

In March 2025, Ben spoke at and sponsored the 'Building Your Future' event, which achieved a record-breaking attendance for the WPCC Chamber.

In September 2026, Ben was also among the first individuals involved in establishing the new 'Weymouth Place Board', supporting a collaborative approach to shaping the town's future.
