A modest yet character-rich transformation designed to complement its host dwelling.

This refurbishment project transformed a former agricultural structure into two generous rooms, all completed under Permitted Development Rights. The design embraced a respectful approach to its surroundings and origins, incorporating a reclaimed brick band externally and a rendered finish to echo the previously white-rendered structure - replacing like-for-like while improving resilience and character.

Essential repairs were undertaken, including damp-proofing upgrades, alongside a renewed material palette that enhances longevity without compromising heritage. Externally, the building is visually grounded through traditional materials and detailing.

Internally, the scheme -led by the client's design preferences - features exposed beams, pitched ceilings, and traditional fenestration that ties the refurbishment back to the main house, to which it remains a subservient and respectful companion.
