Rosenkelly Architectural Design has secured Full Planning Permission for refurbishment works at the public tennis courts in Victoria Gardens, Portland, Dorset.
The project focuses on the replacement of the existing perimeter fencing to improve safety, durability, and the overall quality of the facility for public use. The works support the continued use of the courts as an important recreational space for the local community.

Victoria Gardens sits within the Underhill Conservation Area, meaning that even relatively small upgrades must be carefully considered to ensure they respect the character and setting of the surrounding area. Achieving Full Planning Permission required a clear and well supported submission addressing design, materials, and heritage considerations.
The approved works allow the existing fencing to be replaced with a more durable and appropriate system while maintaining the established layout of the tennis courts. The intention is to enhance the facility while ensuring it continues to sit comfortably within the wider landscape of the gardens.
The improvement project is being delivered by Portland Town Council, who continue to invest in the upkeep of public spaces across the island.
It is encouraging to see refurbishment works now underway at the courts. Once completed, the upgraded facility will help ensure that Victoria Gardens remains an accessible and valued recreational space for residents and visitors alike.
Rosenkelly Architectural Design was pleased to support the project by preparing and submitting the planning application and guiding the proposal through the planning process to a successful outcome.
